Deprecation Schedule

API version deprecations

See our versioning guide to learn how versioning works.

With the release of a new version, a deprecated version may be given a sunset date, after which that version will no longer be available. Our client libraries support all available versions of all services. You can gradually migrate by specifying different versions for different services.

The table below lists the specific deprecation and sunset dates for each available version. We encourage you to migrate to the newest version as soon as feasible after its release.

Feature deprecations

The table below lists the specific feature deprecations that are currently planned for the Google Ads API. More details for each deprecation can be found in the linked blog posts.

Feed-based extensions (first batch)

Feed-based extensions will be replaced by asset-based extensions for the following types:

  • Lead Form
  • Promotion
  • Callout
  • Sitelink
  • Structured Snippet
October 20, 2021 Feed-based extensions will automatically migrate to Asset-based extensions on October 20, 2021, unless the CID has opted out. Accounts edited through the UI only, and not the Google Ads API, are in the process of being migrated. For accounts created after October 20, 2021, only Asset-based extensions can be created. Check out the documentation for more details on migrating and opting out of auto-migration.
Feed-based extensions (second batch)

Feed-based extensions will be replaced by asset-based extensions for the following types:

  • App
  • Call
  • Hotel Callout
  • Price
February 15, 2022 Feed-based extensions will automatically migrate to Asset-based extensions on February 15, 2021. Check out the documentation for more details on migrating.
Feed-based DSA page feed & dynamic remarketing (first batch)

Feed-based DSA page feeds and dynamic remarketing will be replaced with asset-based equivalents for the following types:

  • DSA page feed
  • Dynamic remarketing (first batch)
    • Education
April 27, 2022 Feeds will automatically migrate to Assets on April 29, 2022. Check out the documentation on DSA page feeds and dynamic remarketing for more details on migrating.
Call Only Ads Call Only Ads are replaced by Call Ads in v8 of the Google Ads API. Call Only Ads will continue to serve until they are sunset. April 27, 202
