ee.Number.log

  • Computes the natural logarithm (base e) of a given number.

  • Returns 0 for an input of 1, 1 for an input of e (Euler's number), and -1 for an input of 1/e.

  • Accepts a single numeric input using ee.Number.

  • Provides usage examples in JavaScript, Python with geemap, and Python in Colab.

Computes the natural logarithm of the input.

Examples

Code Editor (JavaScript)

print(ee.Number(Math.pow(Math.E, -1)).log());  // -1
print(ee.Number(1).log());  // 0
print(ee.Number(Math.E).log());  // 1

Python setup

See the Python Environment page for information on the Python API and using geemap for interactive development.

import ee
import geemap.core as geemap

Colab (Python)

import math

print(ee.Number(pow(math.e, -1)).log().getInfo())  # -1
print(ee.Number(1).log().getInfo())  # 0
print(ee.Number(math.e).log().getInfo())  # 1
