Announcing the store widget: build shopper confidence and drive sales

Thursday, September 18, 2025

When shoppers are online, knowing which store to buy from can be a tough decision. The new store widget powered by Google brings valuable information directly to a merchant's website, which can turn shopper hesitation into sales. It addresses two fundamental challenges ecommerce retailers face: boosting visibility and establishing legitimacy. The widget helps you attract customers and encourage them to make a purchase. Businesses using the store widget on their websites saw up to 8% higher sales within 90 days compared to similar businesses without it.

How to add the store widget to your website

The store widget is a dynamic, interactive element you can embed directly onto any page of your existing website. It highlights your store's quality to shoppers by providing visual indicators of excellence and quality. Besides your store rating on Google, the widget can also display other important details, like shipping and return policies, and customer reviews. The widget is displayed on your website and stays up to date with your current store quality ratings. Displaying the store widget on your homepage or product pages can help build trust with potential customers.

There are three tiers of the store widget, and the one that appears on your website depends on your eligibility:

  • The Top Quality store widget shows if your business earned Top Quality store status, showcasing your dedication to a high-quality shopping experience:

  • The Store rating widget appears if you have a high Google store rating but aren't a top-quality merchant yet:
