تختلف بعض بنى المخططات التي يستخدمها Gmail عن المفردات المعيارية في schema.org. تعاونت Google مع منتدى schema.org لتوحيد معايير المخططات ذات الصلة بالبريد الإلكتروني، ما يتيح لخدمات وبرامج البريد الإلكتروني الأخرى الاستفادة منها بشكل كامل.
وقد تم دمجها أيضًا بشكل كبير مع العديد من التحسينات الأخرى في schema.org.
تلتزم Google بمواصلة تعديل إمكانية استخدام المخططات وفقًا لما يتم اعتماده في schema.org. عند اكتمال هذه العملية، ستحاول Google إجراء أي عملية نقل ضرورية بأكبر قدر ممكن من السلاسة لجميع المطوّرين الذين يستخدمون هذه المخططات، وكذلك للمستخدمين.
