February 17, 2026

Fixed an existing bug allowing line items to use optimized targeting with incompatible bid strategies.

Known issues

Prior to this update, a line item could have its targetingExpansion.enableOptimizedTargeting field set to true while inheriting an incompatible bid strategy from its insertion order. This update fixes this issue by instituting the following behavior:

• Reject requests that set the line item targetingExpansion.enableOptimizedTargeting field to true if inheriting a incompatible bid strategy.
• When updating an insertion order's bidStrategy field to an incompatible bid strategy, automatically set the targetingExpansion.enableOptimizedTargeting field of line items inheriting that insertion order's bid strategy to false.

New Features

Added support for managing assets that can be used in YouTube and Demand Gen Ads with the advertisers.adAssets:

• Use upload to upload image assets.
• Use create and bulkCreate to create YouTube video assets.
• Use get and list to retrieve YouTube video assets.

Added support for retrieving Demand Gen Ads using the advertisers.adGroupAds service. Demand Gen LineItems and AdGroups are not retrievable using the Display & Video 360 API.

Added a new adPolicy field to the AdGroupAd object to expose the status of an Ad's policy reviews and options for appeal.

Added support for SDF versions v9.1 and v9.2.

Added the ability to retrieve youtubeAssetAssociations. Creating and deleting these resources is only available to a informed subset of customers.

New Features

Added support for Commerce Grid and Spotify Exchange values.

Added read-only support for excluded content theme targeting. This targeting is set at the advertiser-level and inherited by YouTube and Demand Gen line items.

Added support for new ruleset settings in the AlgorithmRules object, used in rule-based custom bidding algorithms. These new settings are only available for a subset of partners.

Known Issues

The orderBy parameter in advertisers.list requests has been ignored in recent months, with all responses defaulting to ordering by ascending advertiserId. With this update, the issue is fixed. Requests not setting the orderBy parameter will continue to list advertisers by ascending advertiserId.

New Features

Released v4 in public beta, which includes the following changes:

• The removal of methods enabling the retrieval and management of Campaign and InsertionOrder resource targeting.
• The renaming of the FirstAndThirdPartyAudience resource type to FirstPartyAndPartnerAudience.

Follow the steps in our migration guide to migrate from v3 to v4.

In addition, in v3 and v4 we've added:

• Support for asset-based creatives, including a new CreativeType enum value, as well as new related asset roles.
• Support for using Integral Ad Science quality sync custom segments in third party verifier targeting. Support for quality sync custom segments has also been added to live Structured Data Files versions.
• Support for new GeoRegionType enum values used in identifying geographic region targeting options.
