Cómo administrar tus mapas del sitio con un archivo de índice de mapas del sitio
Si tienes un mapa del sitio que supera los límites de tamaño, deberás dividirlo en varios mapas cuyo tamaño no supere esos límites. Una vez que hayas dividido el mapa del sitio, puedes usar un archivo de índice de mapa del sitio para enviar varios mapas a la vez.
Prácticas recomendadas para la indexación del mapa del sitio
El formato XML del archivo de índice de mapa del sitio es muy similar al formato XML de un archivo de mapa del sitio y se define en el Protocolo de mapa del sitio.
Esto significa que todos los requisitos de mapas del sitio también se aplican a los archivos de índice correspondientes.
Los mapas del sitio a los que se hace referencia deben estar alojados en el mismo sitio que tu archivo de índice. Este requisito no se aplicará si configuras el envío entre sitios.
Los mapas del sitio a los que se hace referencia en el archivo de índice de mapa del sitio deben estar en el mismo directorio que el archivo del índice de mapas del sitio, o bien en uno inferior, en la jerarquía del sitio. Por ejemplo, si el archivo de índice de mapa del sitio está en https://example.com/public/sitemap_index.xml, solo puede contener mapas del sitio que estén en el mismo directorio o en uno inferior, como https://example.com/public/shared/....
Puedes enviar hasta 500 archivos de índice de mapa del sitio para cada sitio de tu cuenta de Search Console.
