Google Wallet API Terms of Service

Last modified: June 8th, 2022

By using the Google Wallet API (the "API") to make loyalty cards, boarding passes, event tickets and other objects (“Wallet Objects”) available on Google Wallet, you consent to be bound by these terms in addition to the Google APIs Terms of Service ("API ToS"). Any capitalized terms not defined in these terms will have the definitions set forth in the API ToS. To the extent there is any inconsistency between these terms and the terms of the API ToS, these terms will control.

Content Policy

You may not use the API: (1) to promote or facilitate an unlawful transaction or the sale or exchange of any unlawful or prohibited goods or services, or (2) in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy. The Acceptable Use Policy may be updated by Google from time to time in accordance with its terms and such updates will automatically become a part of these terms.

Brand Features

In using Google's Brand Features in connection with the API and Wallet Passes, you must follow the Google Wallet Brand Guidelines in addition to the Google Brand Features Use Guidelines.

Aggregators

If you are an aggregator submitting content to Google via the API on behalf of other parties, including any third-party Brand Features, you represent and warrant that you are authorized by such third parties and otherwise have all rights necessary to grant to Google the license to Use such content as set forth in the API ToS. You are solely responsible to Google for any content submitted through the API.

End User Information

You may receive information relating to an end user (which may include personal data) through the API, such as a signal that an end user has added, activated, used, or removed a Wallet Object. Your use of any Information you receive will comply with your privacy policy, data security policy, terms and conditions with end users, and applicable laws.

In addition to submitting content via the API, in some instances you may submit information (which may include personal data) relating to Wallet Objects through the API, for example, to facilitate Google’s generation of such Wallet Objects. Google may Use the information you submit to provide and improve its products and services for end users, subject to compliance with our privacy policy and any applicable terms with end users. For any information submitted via the API, you represent and warrant that (i) you have the necessary rights (including any necessary rights from your end users) to submit such information for the purposes set forth herein, and (ii) your submission of such information complies with all applicable laws, including data privacy laws.

Wallet Objects

You will take all commercially reasonable steps to ensure that your Wallet Objects (i.e. the Wallet Objects generated from the content and/or information submitted by you through the API) are up-to-date and otherwise in condition to be accepted upon presentment by the end user. Without limiting the foregoing, if your Wallet Object requires the submission and caching of content and/or information by Google, you will ensure that the content and information submitted is current and is not associated with an account or object that has been removed, suspended, or canceled, for example due to non-use, inactivity or fraud; you will re-submit any such content or information if required. In the event you or Google become aware that your Wallet Objects are not up-to-date or otherwise are not being accepted upon presentment, you will promptly notify Google of the issue (or promptly respond to Google in the event Google notifies you of the issue) and will work together with Google in good faith to resolve the issue expediently to minimize disruption to end users. Google may in its discretion suspend your Wallet Objects and/or your access to the API until Google is satisfied with the end user experience with your Wallet Object.
