You can use Street View to explore places more closely. Zoom in to check out buildings, landmarks, bridges, and more.
Open Street View
- On your computer, open Google Earth.
- Click a place or search for a location.
- At the bottom, click
Pegman.
- Select a highlighted area.
Change your view
- To change your view: Drag the screen.
- To return to a north-facing view: At the bottom right, click the compass.
- If you move to a new area, white arrows appear on screen. Click an arrow to move in that direction.
Zoom in or out
- For a closer view: At the bottom right, click Zoom in.
- For a farther view: At the bottom right, click Zoom out.
Explore historical Street View imagery
Historical Street View imagery lets you seamlessly explore panoramic street-level imagery from different time periods within an immersive 3D environment. With this feature, you can travel back in time and see how places have changed over the years.
To explore historical Street View imagery, do the following:
- Click a place or search for a location.
- At the bottom, click
Pegman.
- Select a highlighted area.
- Select See more dates to open the Street View timeline.
- A slider or collection of thumbnails appears, showing the available dates.
- Select a specific date to load the historical Street View imagery for that time.
- To return to the most recent imagery, click Back to latest.
Report a problem
To report an image quality issue or request blurring for Street View imagery:
- On your computer, open Google Earth.
- Click a place or search for a location.
- At the bottom, click
Pegman.
- Select a highlighted area.
- At the bottom left, click Report a problem.
- Fill out the form and click Submit.

Exit Street View
To exit Street View, at the top left, click
Back.To turn off Street View mode, click Pegman.
