Effective November 3, 2025, Google Maps Platform offers scaled subscription plans ("Subscription") as an alternative to the Pay-As-You-Go ("PAYG") pricing model. This provides customers with the flexibility to choose a predictable monthly price for Google Maps Platform services. These Scaled Subscription Terms and Conditions only apply to eligible Customer Billing Accounts.
These Scaled Subscription Terms and Conditions ("Terms") supplement, amend, and are incorporated into the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service or the EEA Google Maps Platform Terms of Service, as applicable. In the event of a conflict between the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service and these Terms, then these Terms will govern. The effective date of these Terms is November 3, 2025.
These plans are available for enrollment only from November 2025 to March 2026 ("Enrollment Window"). Customers who enroll during this period will retain their subscribed plan and its associated pricing until either: (a) the Customer voluntarily upgrades, downgrades, or cancels their plan, or (b) Google changes or discontinues the Subscription plan(s), for which at least thirty (30) days' notice will be provided. The Customer is responsible for any amount of Fees owed over the Subscription's included usage limits.
Enrolled Customers can manage their Subscription via the Google Cloud Console. Any new or modified Subscription may take up to three (3) business days to become fully active.
The specific details of each Subscription plan, including pricing, usage limits, and included Google Maps Platform Services, are outlined in our Documentation.
Subscription terms and policies
- One Plan Per Account: A customer's billing account can only have one active subscription plan at a time.
- Usage Limits: If your usage exceeds the plan's monthly limit, Google reserves the right to charge standard PAYG prices for all usage of subscribed services for the remainder of the monthly billing cycle. At the start of the next billing cycle, your plan will resume automatically. If you consistently exceed the call limits of the plan, you will no longer be eligible for the subscription and will need to upgrade to a higher limit plan, if available, or be reverted to standard PAYG prices. Unused calls under your subscription plan will not roll over to subsequent months, and no refunds or credits will be issued for unused calls.
- Credits and Standard Monthly PAYG free¹ Usage Caps: Your eligibility for Google Cloud Platform trial credits is unaffected, and any active Google Maps Platform credits, if applicable, will be applied to your monthly billing cycle fee until exhausted. The standard monthly PAYG free usage caps do not apply to services included in the Subscription, while services not covered remain eligible.
- Plan Modification: Customer may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel their
Subscription plan at any time via the Google Cloud Console with no penalty
fees.
- Upgrading a Plan: A Customer may, if applicable, upgrade to a plan with a higher limit. If any usage occurs after the original plan limit is exceeded but before the new plan is active, it will be charged at standard PAYG prices, which are determined by the Customer's month-to-date usage.
- Changing or Selecting a Plan: Customer is ineligible to select a subscription plan if their current month-to-date usage has already surpassed that plan's limit. This includes when a customer downgrades to a lower usage plan or switches from PAYG to a subscription plan.
- Prorated Billing: Mid-billing-cycle plan changes or cancellations will result in prorated billing based on the number of days the plan was active. Any new or modified Subscription may take up to three (3) business days to become fully active.
- Billing After Cancellation: Upon cancellation of a subscription, any subsequent usage for the remainder of the monthly billing cycle will be charged at standard PAYG prices. The applicable PAYG price for this usage will be determined by the Customer's month-to-date usage.
