To participate in the Aggregator Unit, partners must adopt the Point of Interest (POI) Feed. You have two options for providing this POI data: using our transitional Listings-to-POI converter, or building and submitting your own POI feed file.
Option 1: Listings-to-POI Converter
To minimize technical friction for the initial launch, we are offering a transitional converter for Lodging partners. This tool allows partners to participate more quickly by converting their existing property list feeds from Hotel Center to the new compliant POI format in the Actions Center. This solution serves only as a transitional bridge, ensuring you have immediate visibility in the new units, but we recommend partners plan their own POI feed implementation for the long-term.
Partner Steps for POI Conversion:
- No Action Required for Setup: For selected partners, the converter is enabled by default. You don't need to build a new feed immediately. You can continue to update your Hotel Listings in Hotel Center as usual, and converted feeds will display in Action Center once available.
- Ongoing Updates: The converter runs multiple times per week, on the same cadence as your Hotel Listings feed. We recommend updating your Hotel Listings in Hotel Center as usual to ensure updates are consistently picked up.
Option 2: Build a Standalone POI Feed
We are introducing a standardized feed format for lodging entities with physical locations to augment existing formats. This feed is designed to ingest core entity information—such as business name, address, and phone number—alongside relevant metadata that will be directly displayed to help users with their queries. Building your own POI feed is the required long-term data solution.
Data provided using this feed is strictly isolated and used exclusively to populate the Aggregator's own unit. It will never be used to enrich Google's own services or competitors units.
Partner Steps for Implementing the POI Feed:
- Format Your Feed: Refer to the POI Feed Specification to understand the required JSON format and structure your property data.
- Generate an SSH Key Pair: Follow the SSH setup instructions to create a public and private SSH key pair.
- Share Your Public Key: Email your generated public key file

<keyname>.pub) to your Google onboarding team so your SFTP access can be configured. - Upload Your Feed: Once your ssh key has been configured by Google,
you will be provided with a username. Using your username and private
key, you can push your POI JSON files using SFTP:

19321 - File Packaging: Combine all property records into one single JSON file. We recommend compressing it into a single GZIP archive, and uploading it.
- Recommendation: Submit your POI feed at the same cadence as your existing Hotel Listing Feed (HLF) to ensure property data remains consistent across systems.
