Persyaratan Layanan untuk Layanan YouTube API Services ("Persyaratan") menyatakan (di Pasal 14) bahwa saat YouTube bermaksud melakukan perubahan yang tidak kompatibel dengan versi sebelumnya pada layanan YouTube API, YouTube akan mengumumkan perubahan tersebut dan mencoba terus mempertahankan kode software selama enam bulan setelah pengumuman.

Untuk mematuhi kebijakan tersebut, Layanan Subject API untuk sementara tunduk pada aturan penghentian yang berbeda dengan layanan lainnya.
Memahami tanggal penghentian penggunaan
Jika terjadi perubahan yang tidak kompatibel dengan versi sebelumnya pada Layanan Subject API, YouTube akan melakukan upaya yang wajar untuk mengelola kode hingga setidaknya 10 Februari 2018, yaitu satu tahun setelah Persyaratan ini diberlakukan. Untuk layanan lainnya, YouTube akan mencoba terus mempertahankan kode software selama enam bulan sejak tanggal perubahan tersebut diumumkan.
Pengecualian
Beberapa fitur Layanan Subject API tidak tunduk pada aturan yang ditetapkan dalam Pasal 14.3 dalam Persyaratan karena fitur tersebut juga tidak tunduk pada kebijakan penghentian layanan yang ditetapkan berdasarkan rangkaian Persyaratan sebelumnya. Saat pengecualian berlaku untuk properti object, pengecualian juga berlaku untuk setiap properti turunan dari properti tersebut. Selain itu, pengecualian berlaku pada kemampuan untuk mengambil, menetapkan, mengubah, atau menghapus nilai properti atau properti turunannya serta pada nilai properti itu sendiri.
Layanan Subject API
Bagian berikut menentukan Layanan Subject API. Untuk kelengkapan, bagian ini juga mengidentifikasi layanan API yang sepenuhnya tidak digunakan lagi. Layanan yang sepenuhnya tidak digunakan lagi tersebut tidak tercakup dalam Persyaratan.

Layanan API yang sepenuhnya tidak digunakan lagi
Layanan API berikut sepenuhnya tidak digunakan lagi. Klien tunduk pada kebijakan penghentian layanan yang ditetapkan dalam Persyaratan Awal dan periode penghentian penggunaan telah berakhir.
