Chi è
GoodReads è un sito web senza costi per gli amanti dei libri. Immaginala come una grande biblioteca in cui poter esplorare e vedere gli scaffali di tutti gli utenti, le loro recensioni e le loro valutazioni. Puoi anche pubblicare le tue recensioni e catalogare ciò che hai letto, che stai leggendo e che hai intenzione di leggere in futuro. E non solo: puoi unirti a un gruppo di discussione, avviare un club del libro, contattare un autore e persino pubblicare i tuoi contenuti.
La missione di Goodreads è migliorare il processo di lettura e apprendimento in tutto il mondo.
Integrazione con Google Ricerca Libri
Grazie alle partnership con gli editori e al progetto di scansione delle biblioteche, Google ha creato una raccolta di tutti i tipi di libri: Goodreads vuole trasferire nel libro stesso le conversazioni che hanno luogo sui libri del suo sito.
Goodreads eccelle nell'aiutare le persone a trovare i libri che vogliono leggere, attraverso i consigli di amici o altri lettori con gusti simili. Tuttavia, a differenza di una libreria reale, i membri non possono scegliere un libro che pensano di voler leggere e sfogliarlo. L'incorporamento dell'anteprima di un libro tramite le API di Google Ricerca Libri contribuirà a cambiare la situazione, consentendo ai membri di sfogliare i libri online direttamente sul sito. Sarà un servizio molto prezioso per gli abbonati che sono curiosi di vedere un libro e stanno pensando di leggerlo.
L'integrazione tramite l'API Embeddable Viewer di Google Ricerca Libri è stata molto semplice. Abbiamo dovuto solo aggiungere del codice JavaScript rapido (in un attimo grazie agli ottimi esempi di Google) e poche ore dopo il lancio era pronto.
E questo è solo l'inizio: Otis Chandler, fondatore di Goodreads, continuerà a integrare più funzionalità dalle API di Google Ricerca Libri: "Ora che sono disponibili, possiamo integrare innumerevoli funzionalità social divertenti intorno ai contenuti dei libri".
